Teleport to the Seaside with Our Beach Theme Table Decor

Backdrop

When it comes to emulating a scenic ambiance in theme decorations, creating a backdrop is a great place to start with. Setting up a beach themed backdrop that instantly transports you to a beautiful seaside locale but is subtle enough that it won’t overpower the intricate details of the beach table decor could have been a challenging feat if we didn’t have the luxury of choosing the perfect drapes from the impeccable range of backdrop curtains featured on our online store. Since we had a dreamy palette of blue, grey, and neutral hues in mind for our coastal-inspired look, we decided to cue in the rippling ocean waves and drape long sheer white curtain panels from the ceiling to the floor for a graceful appeal. The white-colored curtain panels which we creatively gathered and layered together, perfectly emulated the foamy waves hitting the seashore.

Table Linens

Considering that a beach themed decor should be reminiscent of both the blue sea and the coastline, we were inspired by the pale shades of sand. Thus, we have swathed a beige-colored polyester tablecloth on our dinner table for a crisp look. To create the perfect contrast of seashore colors, we placed our bets on a dusty blue polyester table runner, and it worked out perfectly! The wrinkle resistant high-end polyester table linen gave a smooth finish to the table creating the ideal subdued base while the exotic matte blue runner was the perfect canvas to display the collection of delicate beachy table decorations. In case you feel that your table lacks luster, you can use a dusty blue satin table runner instead for a glossy allure. However, we recommend that you follow our example as using the same fabric material is relatively easier to work with, not to mention the flawless transition it provides between the tablecloth and the table runner.

Centerpieces

As soon as the linens were in their place and the table canvas was ready, it was time to augment its beauty with some major decorations. Since we knew that using just one table centerpiece wouldn’t do justice, we decided to exhibit a couple of different showpieces for an elevated beach table aesthetic. Maybe it’s just us, but we think that any table decor regardless of the theme seems a little incomplete without a bunch of exotic florals and fluttering candles gracing the table. Hence, we used our tapered neck glass flower jar which featured wispy twine wrapped around it like a fishnet to flaunt some pretty artificial white blooms for a modern yet rustic elegance.

Once the floral centerpiece was gracefully positioned in the center, the tablescape needed a radiant glow. So without thinking twice, we grabbed two flickering ivory LED candles and gave them a beachy focal point by placing them on round mirrors embellished with several assorted natural seashells that were set on either side of the flower jar. To soften the sharp bottom edges of the candles, we sprinkled a handful of white-colored decorative sand around the candles which beautifully elevated the beach theme centerpieces.

Additional Table Decorations

Because we intended to imbue an authentic beach vibe by recreating the shoreline, we decided to use some more natural shells in a variety of earthy and ruddy tones. While most of them were scattered around randomly, some were arranged in lovely clear seashell-shaped boxes that were filled with white sand. To complete the beach table decor, we also strewed several glistening faux ivory pearls along with a few beach themed candles that oozed oodles of flair and charm. The addition of the cute little seashell boxes, pearls, and tea light candles is what stitched it all together.

Place Settings

Once we were satisfied with the central table decoration, we moved on to the place settings. As for the dinnerware, we just couldn’t look past our gorgeous white reef chargers which contrasted beautifully with the dusty blue table runner capturing the whimsical moment of the rolling waves breaking on a reef. To further accentuate the visual appeal, we perched a white plate with silver checkered rim with a dusty blue napkin held together with a spiral napkin ring atop the reef charger plates. Whereas, our white handled cutlery complemented the entire set up and the color scheme perfectly.

Chair Decoration

Since we wanted to carry on with the neutral color palette with pops of blue hues, we swapped our dining table chairs with stone-colored chairs to reinforce the summer beach colors. Using our dusty blue sashes we elegantly adorned the chair backs tying a perfect bow, as seen in the video to secure the sash in its place. To avoid overkill, we haven’t added any accessories to the sashes, but if you want, you can hang strings of pearls or use pearl sash pins for an exquisite beach themed decor.
