Recreate That Cinco de Mayo Spirit with Our Simple Setup

Recreate That Cinco de Mayo Spirit with Our Simple Setup

Are you planning to throw a grandeur Cinco de Mayo party, but there are no Mexican-style theme decorations at hand? Well, to be honest, Cinco de Mayo is not only about maracas, sombreros, chili peppers, and Mexican flag – instead, colors, not accessories, do the trick! To demonstrate you how easy it is to create that festive south-of-the-border flavor, we’ve assembled an easy rainbow-inspired setup, which in spite of its simplicity will win over even the most particular guests!

    Linens

Since colors are the main characters of this extravaganza of flamboyant hues, we’ve laid the foundation with our sizzling fuchsia polyester tablecloth instead of a red one. Though fuchsia isn’t a rainbow shade, it’s very similar to red. Furthermore, unlike the latter, it is somewhere between warm red and cold violet, making it a perfect option to tie together cold and warm shades within one color palette.

In terms of fabrics, we’ve looked no further than polyester, which is always a safe investment – despite being sturdy and visually appealing, these linens won’t cost you much. Furthermore, since polyester is one of the sturdiest fabrics, this easy-to-care table cover can be used again and again without losing its flamboyant appeal.

To bring some dimension into our setup, we’ve spread our ivory, white, and burnt orange organza sashes, one atop the other. The result has exceeded all our expectations – the translucent organza created that ombre effect, which is the essence of the rainbow!

Our next step was place settings. In order to make our colorful setup less overwhelming to the eyes, we’ve decided to cool things down by setting the stage for the place settings with our white charger plates. Since there’s always something rustic about classic Cinco de Mayo table settings, we’ve agreed on using those lovely eco-friendly plates to accommodate each guest. Meanwhile, our red, lime green, blue, and orange polyester napkins have instantly made a perfect match with our fuchsia linens and made a nice transition between the white chargers, wooden plates, and plastic champagne flutes with lovely green bases. However, it’s worth noting that it wasn’t our colorful napkins or linens that have made a splash – our tablescape have acquired that pulled-together look and a rainbow appeal as soon as we complemented it with our freshly arrived rainbow dinnerware (to tell the truth, these babies, not the rainbow, are the main reason why we’ve assembled the given setup)!

    Centerpiece

When assembling the centerpiece, we had two main tasks to resolve – firstly, we needed to continue our vibrant hues on our accent piece; secondly, since we had our eco-friendly dinnerware, there must have been something rustic and nature-inspired. Fortunately, our online store offers plenty of accessories, which are rustic and colorful at the same time.

Because cacti are a popular element of classic Cinco de Mayo décor, we haven’t looked any further than the cacti in white ceramic pots from our succulent selection – made from flexible plastic with utmost intricacy, they will deeply inspire you with their realistic appeal. What’s more, available in different shades of green, these pieces of exotic sophistication have flawlessly blended in with our lime green napkins. Since no party is complete without candles, our cactus-style luminaries have made a perfect match with our artificial cacti. On top of that, a bunch of wooden chips scattered around have made for the rustic ambiance.

    Backdrop

Though we haven’t assembled a backdrop for our setup, you can set up one on your own. There are no limitations in terms of the Cinco de Mayo backdrop. For example, if you crave for more colors, we strongly recommend you go for our assorted flower mats. At the same time, those who need “a breather” from sizzling hues can use our marquee letter lights to spell out something Cinco de Mayo-related and finish everything off with giant paper flowers, which are so common at Mexican-style celebrations.
