Table LinensWhen it comes to setting up a tablescape for any special occasion-- be it a holiday celebration or any other special event, it’s always wise to decide on a color scheme right off the bat to end up with a cohesive and harmonized setup. Although red and green isn’t the only color pairing for Christmas anymore, there is no denying that this classic color combo brings out the magic of the holiday like none other. But there’s nothing wrong with putting a creative spin on the classic color palette if you manage to keep the essence of Christmas intact! Thus, instead of just sticking to those vibrant tones of red and green, we have opted for a bit more duskier shades of the holiday colors with pops of moody and metallic tones for a glorious and elegant appeal. To begin with, the lustrous hunter green satin tablecloth which draped beautifully on the tabletop extending all the way down to the floor has set a gorgeous foundation for our Christmas table infusing an imperial allure into our setup. |

Place SettingsNext on the agenda were the place settings. Because this tablescape was all about striking a perfect balance between traditional and classy, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we wanted to incorporate Santa’s favorite color into our table decor with a hint of glam to evoke a festive Christmassy feel. Thus, we have set the scene for our Christmas table setting using plush burgundy velvet napkins that are neatly folded and tucked under scalloped gold rimmed black charger plates with one end hanging down the table. While the velvet napkins paired beautifully with the satin table linen, the glint of gold from the chargers whimsically played off the deep red and green. Furthermore, we have topped off the charger plates with intricately designed red and gold vine design dinner plates which further reinforced the color of the season in our Christmas table setting. However, to cap it all off, we’ve arranged our gold baroque design cutlery set, gold glittered flutes, and gilded glass cups alongside our plates injecting sparkle and glam into our festive place settings. |

Tabletop DecorAs soon as the plates, stemware, and silverware were all in place, it was time to move onto the most fun part of decorating a Christmas table—the over the top tabletop decorations. Since we were aiming to invoke the majestic holiday splendor into our set up, we decided to include various natural and seasonal elements into our table decor. Thus, drawing inspiration from the glistening blanket of snow covering the earth, we ended up creating a carpet of fake snow on a bed of square mirrors that were aligned along the middle of the table. In order to bring in that charming outdoorsy look, we decided to break out our artificial greenery vine garlands, a few natural pine cones, tree barks (you can also use cinnamon sticks instead, to add that subtle scent of cinnamon spice that’ll make the atmosphere feel even more festive and warm), and a couple of gold glittered twine balls to bedeck our snow covered mirrors. This enchanting mix of rustic and seasonal accents has brought an elegant woodsy wintry appeal to our table. |

However, when it came to choosing Christmas table centerpieces, decorating with candles was our preference. Since the audacious blend of black, gold, and red worked so well for our place settings, we decided to place our bets on our gorgeous black and gold candelabra centerpiece, and boy did it pay off! Featuring a sleek matte black and gold 5 arm construction with gleaming crystal chains dangling from the arms and glittered tea light LED candles perched on top, our dramatic candelabra centerpiece looked even more whimsical when we positioned it on the table using a natural round wooden slab. Moreover, we have also borrowed a few glass mirrored ornaments from the Christmas tree and further embellished the centerpiece reflecting the joy of the holiday! |

Although the majestic candelabra took the spotlight at our Christmas table, we wanted to pull out all the stops for our holiday extravaganza with more decor accents. And because we had the perfectly complementing candle holders in store, pairing them with our candelabra centerpiece made sense. Hence, we have also arranged our black and gold candle holders with red tea light candles on either side of the centerpiece which added a sensational dimension to our Christmas table decorations. |

But we didn’t just stop there, to make things really interesting and fun; we put on our creative hats and crafted a couple of Santa hats with deep red and pink glitter foam sheets placing them right next to the candle holders. As for the decor, we headed out to the backyard and bundled up some greenery clippings together with a luscious bunch of cranberries to fill our adorable Santa hats. Furthermore, we also scattered around several red glittered votive LED candles on our tablescape that have added extra oomph and pizzazz to the Christmas dining table decor. |

Backdrop DecorationsBecause our tablescape was all set and brimming with statement pieces and stunning accents, it was only fitting that we set up an equally glamorous backdrop to elevate our Christmas table aesthetics tenfold. And since there’s nothing more luxurious than velvet, we stylishly draped our sumptuous wine-colored velvet curtains on a sturdy backdrop stand without giving it a second thought. In order to take our Christmas table backdrop decor up a notch, we tied the curtain panels with a length of craft wire and creatively tucked in a burgundy silk peony flower stem and cream-colored silk rose stem along with some foliage for a riveting contrast. The lustrous sheen of the velvet linen combined with the floral and foliage decorations looked absolutely mesmeric while the fairy strings lights which were gathered and suspended in between the two panels exuded a twinkling glow. |

With the classic red and green hues dominating the color palette, the addition of moody and warm metallic tones to the color story proved to be just the creative touch we were looking for. What do you think about our enchanting Christmas table setup? Please let us know in the comments below!
