    Backdrop

Since color palette plays a huge role in setting the tone for the event, we decided to get going with the classic black and gold hues while also incorporating a splash of white in our New Year’s Eve party decorations to stylishly offset the dusky and metallic tones. Because we think that a dessert table calls for a striking background to draw more attention to the table, we kicked things off by setting up a glamorous backdrop. Hence, we’ve draped our sparkling black big Payette sequin curtain panels on a backdrop stand which was set against a white wall. With hundreds of large round black sequins sewn into the mesh fabric, this glorious backdrop curtain was the perfect base for our New Year backdrop decoration. To add an interesting visual element to our party table backdrop, we’ve used clear craft wire and shiny metallic gold foil letter stickers to creatively spell out the reason for the gathering. While the champagne bottle and goblet mylar balloons were a nod to the mainstay of any New Year’s Eve party—the champagne.

    Table Decor

As soon as we were done setting up the backdrop, it was time to zero in on the New Year table decorations. Although our store is brimming with an impressive collection of sumptuous linens, we wanted something simple yet classy to balance out the look considering our sparkly backdrop decor. Thus, we have swathed a lustrous black satin tablecloth on our table and elegantly adorned it with gold and black circle dots garland and gold foil number stickers (indicating 2021) that have added a peppy touch to our table without being too over the top.

Once the foundation for our New Year’s Eve dessert bar was laid out, we moved on to the tabletop decor to take our New Year party decorations to a whole new level of glitz and glam! Since we won’t be able to witness the ball drop at Times Square this year, we ended up bringing in the cheer with a mirrored disco ball showpiece for a dazzling and perky appeal. While the varying sized disco balls have brought a gorgeous dimension and sparkle to the festive table, the intricately designed gold round tray underneath helped keep the balls in place not to mention the lustrous metallic hue that popped against the shiny black table linen reinforcing the classy color scheme.

In order to creatively balance out the “visual weights” on our table, we’ve positioned a few upside down whitewashed square wooden boxes to elevate the booze and apothecary jars that have added an elegant sylvan charm to our table decor. Moreover, since throwing confetti is arguably the most fun part of New Year’s traditions, we also ended up sprinkling a mix of gold and silver dot confetti all over the table for that extra pizzazz and oomph.

    Dinnerware

Because year eve parties can get a little rowdy (no doubt it’s the booziest holiday of the year), handing out fine china to your guests is definitely a no-no. Thus, we haven’t looked any further than our chic disposable dinnerware to serve those delicious treats to our guests. We wanted to keep the posh color theme going throughout our dessert station decor, so we’ve opted for our black and gold cardboard cake stand to elegantly display the cake. Unlike its clunky metal and glass counterparts, this scalloped gold edged cardboard cake stand is extremely stylish and convenient. At the same time, we’ve used a clear apothecary jar for those small wrapped treats!

However, to accommodate our guests with individual plates, napkins and glasses, we’ve opted for our chic black and white marbled plastic dinner plates featuring a gleaming gold splattered design, cheery or dotted metallic gold paper napkins, and gold glittered champagne flutes because all that glitter belongs at the New Year’s table, don’t you agree? Furthermore, we’ve also stuffed some silver and gold candy shaped favor boxes with small gifts, candy, trinkets, and crackers creating our very own party poppers because the gift giving season surely doesn’t stop at Christmas!
